Although this list is not comprehensive, they set a framework to help you make good decisions. Disruptions to the general classroom environment will result in a verbal warning, zero hour, email home, and a conference with parent and DI.
- Honor your appointments. If for some reason you can not make a scheduled appointment, you will need to notify me before the scheduled time.
- If you she you will do something, do it.
- Do not miss use hall passes. If you do so, you loose that privilege.
Responsibility
- Keep up with the readings, homework, and assignments
- Be prepared for class with all materials needed.
- Work only on work related to my class when you are in my class.
- Keep all your papers until the school year ends. Keep your binder organized.
- Take care of equipment and your personal space. Keep it clean and organized.
- Do your part in group activities.
- If you are absent, try to get your missed assignments BEFORE you come to the next class.
- Check the website for updates, homework, and due dates.
Concern for Others
- Put cell phones and other e-tools away, silenced, in your backpack.
- Help other students in need.
- Practice all laboratory safety protocols.
- Before the bell rings enter the room quietly.
- Music may be used only when the entire class is working on an assignment.
- Communicate only in English.
Kindness and Politeness
- Be kind to others in your words, thoughts, and actions. Treat others as you wish to be treated.
- Respect the teacher, staff, and all guests.
- Be polite – “thank you” and “you’re welcome” are useful phrases.
Group Interaction
- Raise your hand and wait to be called on before asking a question.
- Work cooperatively by doing your part of the project.
- Be an active and helpful member of all group activities – whether working in pairs or working as a large, whole-class group.
- Stay as a class the first and last ten minutes of class.
- Promote a positive learning environment.
Independent Endeavor
- Always do your own work, even when nobody is looking.
- Be responsible to seek help when needed.
- Use your planner every day to organize your schoolwork.
- Be proactive and take initiative for your own learning
Aesthetic Appreciation
- Clean up the equipment you use and wash and dry your lab area.
- Respect the school and school property.
- All eating, throwing, and grooming are to occur outside the classroom.
- Ensure your attire is aligned with school rules and lab safety rules.
